She Left the CEO and Reclaimed Her Empire
Chapter 83
Tristan stayed silent, making Arlo assume he didn't want to discuss it yet since the situation wasn't critical. Realizing he wouldn't get answers from Tristan, Arlo smirked and knelt to ask Iris, "Iris, how many times have you seen the lady who had lunch with you today? Do you know her name?"
Tristan's grip on his keys tightened instantly. "Arlo!"
Iris didn't understand the adults' tension. Though not very familiar with Arlo, since he asked about Camille, she considered it seriously and answered brightly, "Three times!"
Arlo pressed further. "And her name?"
When Tristan and Camille met earlier, he hadn't even called her Ms. Hartwell. Iris, unable to recall the name, turned to Tristan for help. "Uncle Tristan, what's her name?"
Tristan lowered his gaze. "Next time you see her, ask her yourself."
Iris beamed. "Okay!"
Arlo muttered under his breath, "So possessive."
Tristan ignored him.
Meanwhile, noticing how much Chloe adored the crystal keychains, Iris hesitated before deciding to gift her one despite her own reluctance.
Chloe accepted it with delight. "Thank you, Iris!"
Selene also expressed gratitude.
Iris smiled. "You're welcome."
Seeing Chloe's joy, Iris suddenly asked, "Chloe, aren't you picking one for your mom too?" Chloe froze momentarily, her voice softening. "I'll do that later."
"Oh."
After dinner, Camille read briefly before heading to shower.
Just as she stepped out, her phone rang—Owen.
"Cami, I just saw Sabrina in our neighborhood."
"Sabrina? Selene's aunt?"
Camille froze mid-motion, still processing, when Owen continued, "At first I thought nothing of it, but when I got home, I saw her entering the villa opposite ours—the one under renovation!"
Camille's expression darkened as she sat upright on the bed.
Owen, usually composed, now spoke through gritted teeth. "They're doing this deliberately! Everyone in Lucerne's business circle knows Damien helped the Lancasters establish—"
Even with Hartwell Group struggling, Owen remained in those circles—he'd known but spared Camille the details to avoid upsetting her.
If the Lancasters needed permanent residency in Lucerne, buying property made sense.
But choosing the house directly opposite the Hartwells? No one would believe that coincidence.
Camille understood Owen's implication.
Gripping her phone, she said, "I'll call Damien."
"Good."
Under normal circumstances, Owen wouldn't involve Damien. But this was different.
If Sabrina moved in, daily provocations would follow. With Marianne's fragile health, the stress could be dangerous.
After hanging up, Camille immediately dialed Damien. The line rang until—
"Hello?"
Selene's voice answered.
