She Left the CEO and Reclaimed Her Empire

Chapter 60

Camille spotted Damien immediately. She maintained her composure and turned to Gabriel. "We have prior engagements. Let's continue this conversation another time."

Gabriel shook hands with them politely. "Of course. Another time then."

Without even glancing at Camille, Selene strode away with Malcolm and Rosalie in tow.

Given Gabriel's status, it wasn't surprising when several industry leaders approached him before noon, extending lunch invitations. Their subtle hints confirmed Damien would be attending.

This gathering would bring together the who's who of the AI sector - the very people shaping the industry's future. The market's direction hinged on their decisions.

More than just networking, this was an opportunity to gain insider knowledge. Successful discussions could even lead to immediate business deals.

Gabriel was clearly tempted.

He glanced at Camille, silently seeking her opinion.

With Damien present, would she...

"I'm coming," Camille stated firmly.

Outside, they'd maintain their facade as strangers. But avoidance wasn't her style.

The group of executives led Camille and Gabriel toward Damien's contingent.

Damien watched their approach with an unreadable expression.

Selene's brow furrowed momentarily before smoothing into indifference as she averted her gaze.

When Malcolm and Rosalie joined them, their expressions darkened upon noticing Camille.

Some attendees hadn't greeted Gabriel yet, so they seized the opportunity as he approached.

When it was Damien's turn, he extended his hand. "Mr. Ashcroft."

"Mr. Harrington," Gabriel replied with practiced ease. "I've heard so much about you."

"The pleasure is mine."

After brief pleasantries, Damien and Selene led the procession to the parking lot. Camille and Gabriel followed several paces behind.

Malcolm and Rosalie shot warning glances at Camille, who pretended not to notice.

Damien and Selene shared a car, while Camille rode with Gabriel.

Rosalie huffed in frustration. "That girl has no sense of propriety."

The convoy comprised over twenty vehicles.

The private dining room's expansive round table accommodated everyone comfortably.

Naturally, Damien and Selene sat together.

Rosalie attempted to sit beside Camille, worried she might cause a scene. But Gabriel had already claimed the seat.

As everyone settled, conversation flowed while menus circulated.

Damien handed the menu to Selene. "Your choice."

She accepted it gracefully. "Any preferences?"

"Whatever you select," he replied.

Nearby guests chuckled. "Mr. Harrington and Ms. Lancaster make quite the pair."

Selene selected several dishes she knew Damien favored.

Malcolm and Rosalie exchanged approving smiles.

Meanwhile, Gabriel consulted Camille quietly about her preferences.

Noticing the exchange at Damien's side, he glanced over briefly before refocusing on Camille. Her expression remained neutral as they finalized their order.

Seeing Camille behaving appropriately, Malcolm and Rosalie relaxed slightly.

Selene leaned closer to whisper, "Relax. She wouldn't dare make a scene with Damien here."
