Gabriel Ashcroft and Rosalie Lancaster's primary goal at the tech expo was networking.

Of course, once Damien Harrington arrived, they kept discreet tabs on him while working. They were curious how he'd react upon seeing Camille Hartwell.

But when Damien spotted Camille, his expression remained completely blank. He looked right through her as if she were a stranger. Not even a second glance.

The rumors must be true. Years ago, Camille had allegedly used shady tactics to trap Damien into marriage. He'd never cared for her.

Even after their wedding, he'd barely spent time at home. Pure disgust was all he felt toward her.

As the expo's main conference prepared to begin, staff notified key company representatives to gather for the summary meeting.

Representing NovaSight Labs were Gabriel and Camille.

They walked ahead together.

Seeing Camille granted access to the conference hall shocked Selene Lancaster and Rosalie.

Rosalie turned to Selene. "Does Gabriel truly value her that highly?"

They'd already sensed his regard when he brought Camille to the expo. But this level of privilege was unexpected.

Unbelievable.

Camille was a divorced single mother.

Beautiful, yes - but with Gabriel's elite background, he could easily find someone far more accomplished.

Why invest in a woman about to enter her second marriage?

Selene stayed silent.

Though they'd entered the expo, seating was limited. Since their company hadn't contributed exhibits, they'd normally be relegated to the back rows.

Yet Damien had arranged front-row seating for Selene beside him.

Hearing this, Malcolm Lancaster chuckled.

Camille was present, yet Damien placed Selene at his side.

Rosalie smirked. "I hear Mr. Graham Bellamy is speaking later. Front row means better access."

Selene understood perfectly.

After spotting Camille and Gabriel in the middle rows, Rosalie had felt slighted. But Selene's prime seating instantly lifted her spirits.

Selene also noted Camille and Gabriel's location.

Following Damien, she passed Camille without acknowledgment, chin lifted.

Camille and Gabriel noticed them too.

Neither cared to acknowledge the group.

But whispers swirled around them.

"Mr. Bellamy is in the front row! Those seats guarantee conversation opportunities. So jealous."

"Exactly!"

Camille and Gabriel exchanged glances.

Gabriel leaned closer, murmuring, "Don't worry. Even if she meets our mentor, she'll never impress him."

Their first encounter had revealed Selene's true capabilities.

Camille raised an eyebrow. "What if she's been hiding her skills?"

A fair point. Gabriel had considered this possibility but...

Was it likely?

As he pondered, the host took the stage.

After lengthy remarks, the announcement came: "Please welcome our keynote speaker, Mr. Graham Bellamy!"
