Chapter 476

Camille and Damien walked side by side out of the hospital room.

After putting some distance between them and the door, Camille spoke first.

"You can say what you need to say now."

Damien turned to look at her.

"Grandmother's condition isn't stable yet."

"I'd like to postpone our divorce for a few more days."

Camille didn't meet his gaze.

Her expression remained unchanged, showing no surprise at his request.

After a brief silence, she responded.

"Understood."

"Thank you."

As she started to walk away, Damien added, "Is there anything you want?"

"As a token of gratitude, I can help you with anything—or grant you a wish."

Camille paused slightly at his offer but didn't turn around.

Her voice remained calm.

"It's fine."

"You can't give me what I want."

She realized her words might be misinterpreted—that he might think she wanted his love—so she added, "I don't mean what you think."

Damien chuckled softly.

Standing just two steps behind her, he studied her profile.

"How do you know what I think?"

Camille didn't know how he had interpreted her words.

Judging by his tone, he didn't seem angry.

Whatever he thought she meant, she didn't intend to explain further.

She simply walked away in silence.

Watching her retreating back, Damien called out, "Then let's just say I owe you a favor?"

Camille didn't stop walking.

"Suit yourself."

That evening, news of Helena Harrington's awakening and the delayed divorce between Camille and Damien reached both the Hartwell and Lancaster families.

Nora Lancaster remarked, "It's better that Mrs. Harrington woke up rather than remaining in a coma."

"Now that she's conscious, Camille and Damien's divorce is that much closer."

"However you look at it, this is good news."

Giselle and Sabrina silently agreed, though they didn't voice their opinions aloud.

Giselle had been in low spirits lately after being publicly rejected by Tristan Rutherford in front of Camille days earlier, so she remained quiet.

Selene Lancaster felt the same way as the others.

In fact, compared to everyone else in both families, she was the most eager to see Camille and Damien officially divorce.

Despite her impatience, she had to accept Damien's decision to delay the divorce for his grandmother's sake.

Helena Harrington's awakening should have made Selene happy—from any reasonable perspective.

But then she heard that Camille would be going to the Harrington Group tomorrow...

Last time, Camille had only briefly demonstrated her skills at Harrington Group and already gained recognition from the R&D department's core team—including Damien himself.

If she appeared again and showcased her professional abilities once more, and if Damien witnessed it...

The thought made Selene lose her appetite.

She clenched her spoon as her mood darkened.

The next day, after visiting Helena at the hospital with Marianne Hartwell, Camille prepared to head to Harrington Group.

Damien was also at the hospital and knew she would be going there.

By the time Camille left, it was already late morning.

Since she didn't need to return to NovaSight Labs, she could go straight to Harrington Group.

Damien also needed to return to the company to handle matters.

In theory, they could have gone together.

But neither of them suggested it.

Instead, they left the hospital separately, one after the other.

When Camille arrived at Harrington Group, most people were already present in the conference room.

The meeting had been underway for some time.

After Camille finished speaking with several colleagues, she suddenly noticed Damien had entered the conference room at some point.

She glanced at him briefly before looking away.

Noticing her confusion, the staff member sitting beside her leaned in and whispered with a smile, "Mr. Harrington came in more than ten minutes ago."

"He wasn't supposed to attend today's meeting."

"But since he arrived, he's been sitting there watching and listening to you speak the whole time..."

"It's pretty obvious he came just to hear your presentation."

Camille had already built a strong reputation in Harrington Group's technical department.

In fact, many people from the department wanted to attend her sessions, though not everyone had access to the conference room.

Camille said nothing in response.

The meeting continued.

After she finished another round of explanations, Damien still showed no intention of leaving.

Just then, someone gestured outside the glass wall and leaned toward him to whisper, "Mr. Harrington, Ms. Lancaster is here."

Damien heard the message and retracted his gaze from Camille, looking toward the conference room entrance.

Selene was indeed standing just outside the door.

Others in the room also noticed her presence.

Since they were on a break, someone gossiped in a low voice, "Mr. Harrington's girlfriend came to the office to find him again."

Camille overheard the comment but didn't react.

Seeing Selene, Damien stood up and left the conference room.

Walking toward her, he asked, "Didn't you say you had something to handle at Vertex Dynamics?"

"Why did you suddenly come over?"
