"Elena, I heard you got accepted into flight school?" General Bennett frowned slightly. "That place chews people up and spits them out. The dropout rate is 70% every year—only a handful actually become pilots. The rest either get transferred to ground crew or drop out completely."

Elena blinked in confusion. "People actually drop out?" In her past life, she hadn't even set foot in a university—how would she know these details?

"Absolutely!" General Bennett slapped his thigh. "Half the recruits wash out in the first year and a half of basic training alone. With your petite frame..." His gaze swept over her slender arms and legs, his words trailing off.

Daniel Ward broke into a cold sweat just listening. A pilot? That was absurd! He'd seen special forces training—the intensity was brutal.

"Elena..." Daniel hesitated.

Seizing the opportunity, General Bennett pressed on. "Why not join our hospital? Your acupuncture skills would shine in the Traditional Medicine Department." His eyes gleamed. "Excellent pay, housing benefits, and most importantly..." He lowered his voice. "We can arrange jobs for your family."

Elena's heart skipped a beat. The offer was tempting. But...

"Sir, my acupuncture technique..." She bit her lip. "It's a family secret. I can't teach it to others."

General Bennett was taken aback. "What can it treat?"

"Theoretically, anything." Elena smirked slyly. "But the results... depend on the patient's constitution. My grandfather always said traditional medicine requires intuition."

She stole a glance at Daniel. His face had darkened—clearly, the word "pilot" had shaken him.

"Maybe..." Daniel finally blurted out.

General Bennett cut him off. "We'll get you certified within three months! You can apply for further studies anytime!" He rubbed his hands anxiously. "Better than washing out of flight school, right?"

Elena stifled a laugh. This man was pulling out all the stops to recruit her.

"Well..." She feigned hesitation. "I'll think about it?"

General Bennett exhaled in relief. Daniel, meanwhile, grinned from ear to ear.
