After I Walked Away, My Billionaire Ex Begged Me Back
Chapter 103: Care That Could Not Reach Him
Paige Lawson's tenderness and care gave Grant Holloway an unprecedented sense of fulfillment.
Clara Whitmore had never treated him this way.
But after actually being with Paige, Grant felt something was missing. It was like scratching an itch through a boot—frustrating and unsettling.
The beach under the moonlight was exceptionally enchanting.
Grant walked aimlessly before suddenly stopping.
On a beach chair not far away, Clara was clinking glasses with Connor Hayes. Under the moonlight, her radiant smile was one Grant hadn't seen in a long time.
"Grant, what are you—"
Paige caught up, slightly out of breath, and followed his gaze. She feigned surprise. "Clara and Connor seem so close." She tilted her head, her tone innocent. "Drinking together at night—how romantic."
Grant's jaw tightened.
"From a distance, they looked like a couple deeply in love." Paige blinked. "But they do make a good match."
"Do you think... they planned this vacation together?"
She pretended to sneeze and leaned into Grant. "The sea breeze is so cold..."
Her thin spaghetti-strap dress fluttered in the night wind.
Grant remained motionless, his eyes fixed on the distant pair.
Paige gritted her teeth discreetly, maintaining her sweet smile. "Shall we head back?"
Grant shook off her hand and turned to leave.
"Wait for me!" Paige hurried after him, glancing back at Clara with a flash of malice in her eyes.
Back at the villa, Paige touched up her makeup in front of the mirror.
Her reflection showed flawless skin and lips like fire.
The shower stopped, and Grant emerged, drying his hair. He went straight to the wine cabinet and poured himself a glass of red wine.
Paige pressed against him from behind, tracing circles on his chest. "Grant..." Her voice was sultry. "You haven't touched me lately..."
She rose on her tiptoes, her breath warm against his ear. "I miss you..."
When Grant didn't resist, she boldly untied the sash of his robe.
"Enough."
Grant suddenly pushed her away, his gaze icy. "I'm not in the mood."
Paige froze, watching as he walked into the guest room.
She clenched her fists, nails digging into her palms.
After what happened last time, their relationship should have deepened. Instead, Grant had grown increasingly distant.
No matter how hard she tried, he remained indifferent.
